Dr. Donald Santora
Dr. Santora is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has performed over 30,000 refractive procedures. Dr. Santora is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the International Society of Refractive Surgeons, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Santora has published numerous papers in ophthalmology journals and lectured on current topics in the field of laser vision correction. Dr. Santora stays at the forefront of eye surgery by offering laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium lens options, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and custom LASIK; making him one of the reasons that Valley Ophthalmology is the region’s leader in comprehensive eye care!
Dr. Robert Stein
Dr. Stein is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Stein opened up a private practice in Mercer County during the spring of 1995. Over the next several years, he took over several retiring physician practices in the surrounding area. Besides caring for the many patients in the local area, he was also a noted national speaker on advances in cataract surgery for many years. This led to invitations to speak at over 100 national and international events during his career. His strong desire to teach is still evident today, as he provides rotation services for students, interns, and residents. Besides Dr. Stein’s experience in cataract surgery, which includes implantation of all types of specialty lenses, he enjoys caring for diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and performing routine examinations. Dr. Stein is also one of the early pioneers in the United States to utilize neurotoxins for medical necessity. His extensive experience with these products produced a strong foundation for the usage of cosmetic Botox and fillers for the past 15 years.
Dr. Taylor Rupert
Dr. Rupert was born and raised in Indiana, PA, where she graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in Natural Science and a minor in Chemistry. While attending college, she worked part-time at her family’s optometric practice which started her interest in ocular health. Upon graduation from IUP, Dr. Rupert continued her education at Drexel University's Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Rupert is passionate about helping her patients understand how their ocular health relates to their overall systemic health. She specializes in ocular disease, and has extensive training in the management and treatment of glaucoma, retinal pathology such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, and pre/post-operative care. Outside the office, Dr. Rupert enjoys cooking, exercising, cheering on all Pittsburgh sports teams, and spending time with her family and her puppy. Dr. Rupert looks forward to treating the wonderful patients of northwestern Pennsylvania.
Dr. Matthew Griffith
Dr. Griffith attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania while completing IUP’s advanced 3-year course in Natural Science and Pre-Optometry. He got accepted into Drexel University's Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia starting the fall of 2018 where he was part of the American Optometric Student Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Student Association, Sports Vision Club, Private Practice Club, and also completed an advanced studies course in specialty contact lenses, where he received honors during his final externship rotation in school. Dr. Griffith has a great interest in medical eye diseases such as dry eye disease, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. In his free time, Dr. Griffith enjoys cheering on all Pittsburgh sports teams, the Florida Gators, traveling, hunting, fishing, spending quality time with his wife and family, and running with his dog.
